LOVING TESCO LESS

1st April 2006 -
Enjoy shopping more by loving Tesco less.

(Apologies to Kaiser Chiefs/ Everyday I love you less and less)

Loving Tesco Less

Everyday, Tesco get bigger and bigger
Everyday, we love them less and less.

Tesco say “Its not our fault”
Its the shoppers, they say,
The shoppers just won’t go away.

So Tesco have to open more stores,
Bigger stores. Smaller stores.
Uptown, downtown, edge of town, out of town.

As another small shop shuts,
While farmers protest,
And the supply chain tightens another notch.

“But Tesco’s prices are so low...
How can anyone complain?”
The public gets what the public wants.

Super Size Tesco.
Is that what we really want?
Competition all eaten up and no where else to shop?

What can be done? And how? Its easy if you try.

Loving Tesco Less Days

Starting on the 1st of April and on the first day of each month thereafter - shop less at Tesco. If you can, enjoy shopping more at markets and small shops on your high street. If you can’t, then use other supermarkets. We can all be shopping heroes, if just for one day. Tesco will notice. Even the smallest drop in sales on ‘Loving Tesco Less Days’ will register.

Sir Terry Leahy [big boss man] will never admit it, but in his heart he knows that as Tesco get bigger and bigger, everday we love them less and less.
